COSMETOLOGY

In Cosmetology class, you will be introduced to many aspects of haircare. You will learn about the chemistry and sciences of the hair and its structure, and how it grows. You will also be educated in the art of styling, shaping and molding the hair in to a variety of styles. You will also learn about the science of chemical changes in the hair (color, highlights, relaxers, waves and more).

The Cosmetology Board requirements are as follows:

A Cosmetology student has to be 16 years old, in the 11th grade and has earned 11 credits. The student's transcript has to list 11th grade and 11 or more credits.

Cosmetology offers a range of opportunities. You can work in a great environment with other stylist, own your own salon, and in some cases be your own boss by renting or leasing a chair in a salon. Nail technician. Skin care specialist. Make-up artist. Platform artist. Manufacturers representative. Consultant. Educator.
