NURSING
Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
St. Martin College and Career Readiness Center (CCRC) is an approved Nurse Aide Training Program. The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is responsible for the administration of the state’s nurse aide program.
The CNA curriculum consists of a minimum of 40 hours in person classroom/skills lab at CCRC prior to the required 40 clinical hours completed at a Nursing Home. Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) Competency Evaluation Program consists of two tests, a Written (Knowledge) test, and a performance-based Clinical Skills test. Prometric administers both tests at the College and Career Center at no cost to students.
CNA certification is valid for 2 (two) years from the time of issue. After certification you must work at least 8 (eight) hours of nursing or nursing-related services in an approved setting during every consecutive 24-month period for pay after completion of a training and competency evaluation program to maintain CNA certification.
